Florex is a boutique florist in central Alicante, with over 12 years of experience in the world of flowers. Now we're opening our studio as an in-person school: courses designed for you to learn by doing, from your first bouquet to the business behind it.

Choose according to your goal: create beauty for your home, or make the leap into the profession. Both are 100% in-person, in small groups.
Flowers for home
5 days · 2.5 h · groups of 4–6The art of creating beauty at home with your own hands. A course to enjoy, build technique and take your creations home.
Each class you take home your own creation.
Class 1The secret of the perfect bouquet: the spiral
Get to know the studio, the tools (scissors, knife, wire and tape) and the materials. Learn to choose and prepare fresh flowers and make the right cut.
Hands-onYour first spiral bouquet with rose and eucalyptus: centre, balance and the shape of the bouquet. You take it home.
Class 2Lightness and movement in the bouquet
Flower care: stem types (soft, hard and woody) and cuts to extend their life. Form theory: the open bouquet, rustic and garden styles.
Hands-onAn unstructured bouquet with rose, carnation, genista, eucalyptus and hydrangea: creating air, levels and movement. You take it home.
Class 3Kenzan arrangement
What the kenzan is, the Japanese technique and the philosophy of minimalism. The rule of thirds, lines and the direction of movement.
Hands-onAn arrangement working with line and space. Made in the studio's ceramics; if you wish, you can buy a kenzan and vase separately.
Class 4Floral foam arrangement
Composition basics: balance, proportion and focal point. How to prepare floral foam and set it in a box.
Hands-onAn arrangement in Florex's signature box with a mix of seasonal flowers: height, volume and distribution. You take it home.
Class 5Final bouquet
The linear bouquet: minimalism, lines and a star flower.
Hands-onA modern bouquet with anthurium: direction of the lines, balance and lightness. Course close, a little celebration, diplomas and a photo session.
Professional floristry
7 days · 3–4 h · theory + practiceThe florist profession, no frills. From technique to real shop work: everything you need to start working with flowers.
You receive flowers for the whole course and work with them across the 7 days.
Day 1The florist profession
The reality of the trade, the directions of modern floristry, the tools, safety and the care of cut flowers.
PracticeProfessional processing of cut flowers, cleaning and preparing stems, spiral technique (basics), a green cushion and working the shape of the bouquet.
Day 2Airy bouquet and wrapping
Flower classification, the requirements of a professional bouquet, bouquet types and modern wrapping styles.
PracticeAssembly methods, spiral at different densities, a loose, airy bouquet and wrapping techniques.
Day 3Unstructured bouquet
The bouquet as composition: line, rhythm, balance and accent.
PracticeAn open spiral bouquet, working with lines and dynamics, and gentle asymmetry.
Day 4Vertical arrangement
Volumetric and spatial composition, movement, growth point, proportions and the golden ratio.
PracticeBuilding a vertical arrangement, distributing the material and working with proportion and height.
Day 5Floral basket and colour
Working with colour and the colour wheel, using floral foam and the requirements for assembling a basket.
PracticeFloral foam technique and arranging a floral basket.
Day 6The florist in the shop
Dealing with the customer, sales psychology and working with the flow of orders.
PracticeA bouquet to the customer's order and working against the clock.
Day 7Final exam
Preparing the portfolio and reviewing the work.
PracticeA signature bouquet, a floral foam arrangement and diplomas.

At the Florex studio, in Alicante
Classes are 100% in-person at our studio on Calle Colón 8, 03001 Alicante. An intimate space, right in the centre, with everything you need to learn working with fresh flowers.
