Who we are — the florists behind Florex
Florex was founded in Alicante in 2024 by a florist with over 12 years in the trade, as a floral atelier with a simple idea: every bouquet is made by a professionally trained florist, with flowers bought that same morning. Today we are a flower shop on Calle Colón 8 and a school, Florex Academy, where we train the next florists of the Costa Blanca.
Elena — founder and head florist
Professional florist trained at the Nicole International School of Florist-Designers, the oldest and one of the most prestigious floristry schools in the post-Soviet space (since 1994), known for its academic approach and European standards. Diplomas in 2016 and 2018. She has taken part in a masterclass with German master Gregor Lersch, a world reference in floral design, and since 2016 has visited the Royal FloraHolland Trade Fair in Aalsmeer every November — the world’s largest cut-flower fair — bringing back each season’s varieties and trends. She leads the team, designs Florex’s signature collection and teaches Florex Academy courses in Spanish, English and Russian.
Vita — florist and Florex Academy teacher
Also trained at the Nicole school and a certified teacher of Kiev Flower School. At Florex she makes bouquets every day and teaches Academy courses in Ukrainian and Russian.
How we work
- We buy flowers every morning at auction and from local growers. What you see in the window is from today.
- Every bouquet is made by a member of this team, in this shop. No franchises, no middlemen, no mass-produced bouquets.
- Before it leaves, we send you a photo. If it isn’t right, we remake it.
- We teach what we do. At Florex Academy we train florists from scratch and professionals who want to grow.
